PressReader App Reviews

Totally Useless

Really?!? I thought my mileage may vary from other users. Nope! Installed app and tried to log in to my subscription to the Washington Post. Failure time and again. This app was uninstalled 5 minutes after installing. Why waste time developing an app that does not have functionality?

Crashed under 10.6.8, black screen under 10.8.3… :(

Never used a bad application like this.

great :)

Great to finally have a version of press reader available through the app store. It could work better as a mac software but the program itself is so useful I have to give it 5 stars. I am using mac OS 10.8.4 and have had no issues. The navigation could be better to take advantage of the native mac gestures and I will tell the developer about that.

Dont Give Into Their Lies

The screenshots and app description are written to mislead you into thinking that this app has it all! The truth is, as soon as you launch this app it will ask you to login. When taken to the register-for-a-new-account page, you are given a choice of subscription plans. I am not paying these people money if theyre trying to con me out of it. If they told me up front in the app description of how much these magazines would cost me, or perhaps offer in-app purchases, maybe I would have tried them out! One star for the kind of dishonesty that sours the taste in the consumers mouth.

Terrible

Wow…really terrible on the 2013 Macbook Air…there are no controls. No gestures, no turning pages with trackpad, nothing. Only thing you could do is double tap to magnify the article but even that had way too small of a font to be readable. Had to resort to legacy software.

Insufficient user info for install

Im a long-time Mac user and tried to get this pathetic app working with the Wash. Post where I have an account for Wash. Post online. Remarkably I couldnt even find to option to authorize the computer. Very limited menu options. Major waste of time.

Wish there were a zero star option

This app doesn’t work for Mac. Can’t authorize a computer to read the Washington Post and the options menu offers nothing helpful. Whoever released this app should be barred from the software development business.

app won’t authorize

can’t get the app to authorize - I have a Wash Post account but no deal. Waste of time.

(Still) Broken

Not sure which bugs have been fixed but the blindingly obvious one whereby you launch the app and you are confronted by a blank screen, no where to log-in, no menu… nada infact... is still intact from the previous version. Seriously, apart from as a screensaver, this app serves no purpose.

Can’t use it

I log in fine but the moment I try open one of my subscriptions it just blurs. I can see the paper opening but I can’t see anything. Quite useless as it is at the moment.

t

Waste of time. Click on app and the screen ask to authorize. I have a paid subscription to a newspaper and I tried every way I can think of to get through the authorization screen but it does not work. Do not waste your time with this app.

Bad

Very limited options. And I can’t authorize :(

A waste of time

This app doesn’t work. I have two subscriptions that I can access on PressReader for iPad, but PressReader for Mac does not work.

Doesn’t Work

Useless. Developers have no idea what a mess they have created. Nothing works...

Unusable

I open the app and I can download three papers. If I change my mind and delete these three I can’t load any more. Crumby app.

extremely difficult - can’t really use this

The authorize feature is asking for the publication password - that is confusing - but once I figured it out - I cannot use the feature to look at back issues and once I open the newspaper, I can’t read it. completely, horrible, useless.
